Freegal

Freegal is downloadable music service which provides access to the catalog of artists in Sony Music Entertainment. Library cardholders can download 5 songs a week with their Lawrence Public Library Card Number (all digits without a space) and their Evergreen Account Password. Before you use Freegal, please update your password in the Evergreen account. All music is free and you get to keep it forever - no due dates! All songs work with an MP3 player, iPod, iPhone, etc. with no DRM. Library users have up to 5 downloads per week.

Freegal Tip: Preview a song by clicking on the circular arrow to the left of a song. Download a song by selecting "Download Now" and then hitting "Save." If you select "download now" and hit cancel, you will still use up one of your weekly downloads. For more detailed information, visit the FAQs page once you log in to Freegle Music.

Interlibrary Loan

The easiest and fastest way to get an item you are looking for is to search for it in our online catalog. However, if it is not available, your next option is the Commonwealth Catalog which allows you to browse millions of items from libraries across Massachusetts, make a request, and have the item delivered right to Lawrence Public Library for you to pick up. Log in here by selecting your library and entering your library card number and PIN.

Services for the Blind and Print-Disable.

The Lawrence Public Library is partnered with the Perkins Library to provide an accessible collection for anyone in our community who requires additional assistance accessing and engaging with print library materials. The collection includes talking books, talking book players and other materials. If you, your friends, family or anyone you know has difficulties reading print materials, enroll online here or apply in person at the Main Library reference desk located on the 2nd floor.

Book Clubs

Through our membership in the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium, we are able to offer our patrons access to more 300 book club kits! Each kits contains multiple copies of a book in print and audio, a discussion guide, and a book club registration sheet in an easy-to-carry canvas tote bag. There are titles available to suit any age level and diverse interests. Browse the kits and reserve one today to host your own book club.
