Cultural Passes

At Lawrence Public Library, our mission is to provide our community with unparalleled access to culture, knowledge and entertainment. We offer an extensive collection of books and movies, as well as cultural passes that you can use to explore a wide variety of museums and performance venues.

The Harvard Museums of Science & Culture

The Harvard Museums of Science & Culture (located at 26 Oxford St. Cambridge, MA 02138) is the most-visited attraction at Harvard University. Enjoy the historical collections, temporary exhibitions, and the new permanent galleries. Be sure not to miss the complete Kronosaurus skeleton! This pass provides admission for up to four visitors for free. For larger groups, ask about additional passes.

Boston Children's Museum

The Boston Children’s Museum (located at 308 Congress St. Boston, MA 02210) was founded in 1913. Today it is the 2nd oldest and one of the largest children’s museums in the world. Designed for children and families, the hands-on exhibits and programs focus on science, culture, environmental awareness, health & fitness, and the arts. There is sure to be something everyone will enjoy. This pass provides discounted admission for up to four people at half price admittance.

Museum of Fine Arts

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (located at 465 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115) is one of the most comprehensive art museums in the world; their collection encompasses nearly 500,000 works of art. On your visit you can experience art from ancient Egyptian to contemporary, special exhibitions, and innovative educational programs! This pass provides discounted admission for up to two people at a cost of $10 each.

Museum of Science

The Museum of Science (located at 1 Museum Of Science Driveway, Boston, MA 02114) has more than 700 interactive permanent exhibitions and a revolving schedule of temporary exhibits that can be enjoyed with your pass. The museum also features a Planetarium, IMAX theater, Butterfly Garden, and live animal shows. The pass provides discounted admission for up to four people at a cost of $10 each. Admission is for exhibits only.

New England Aquarium

The New England Aquarium (located at 1 Central Wharf, Boston, MA 02110 is a global leader in ocean exploration and marine conservation. With 600 different species on exhibition, there is sure to be something for everyone in the family to enjoy. This pass provides 50% off the normal cost of admission for up to for up to 4 people and is available year round.

State Park - Free Parking

This pass provides free parking for one vehicle to any Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) park. You can find one to visit near you here. The parking pass is available to borrow for any resident of the City of Lawrence with a valid library card and must be returned to the main library on the next business day. Enjoy exploring the great outdoors!

USS Constitution Museum

The USS Constitution Museum (located at Building 22, Charlestown Navy Yard, Charlestown, MA 02129) gives visitors an in-depth history of one of the world’s most well-known vessels, often referred to as “Old Ironsides”. Interactive exhibits, hands-on programs, and a vast collection of artifacts provide fun for all ages. Best of all, you can climb aboard and explore the actual historic vessel itself docked right outside the museum. This pass provides free admission for up to nine people.

Wheelock Family Theatre

The Wheelock Family Theatre (located at 180 Riverway, Boston, MA, 02215) creates intergenerational and multicultural productions that provide a shared experience for the whole family to enjoy! Your library card serves as your cultural pass for this theater, so you do not need to pick up a pass at the Library to bring with you. It is a Buy One Get, One Free deal (up to 4 free tickets per cardholder) Tickets must be reserved in advance (call 617-353-3001) and collected at the theater box office with your library card in order to get the discount.

Zoo New England

The Zoo New England pass gives you the option of visiting the Stone Zoo (located at 149 Pond St. Stoneham, MA 02180) or the Franklin Park Zoo (located at 1 Franklin Park Rd. Boston, MA 02121). This pass provides admission for up to six people at a cost of $9 per adult and $6 per child.

The Lawrence Public Library

The Lawrence Public Library offers a variety of cultural passes for your enjoyment. The following is a list of guidelines related to our cultural pass program.

Passes may be borrowed by anyone 16 and older holding a Lawrence library card.
Passes may be reserved in person or by phone. Reservations are two per household, per month.
When available, passes may be picked up one day in advance of the reservation.
If passes have not been reserved by Lawrence patrons, same day reservations from patrons from other consortium member libraries will be honored after 10AM.
If a patron decides not to use the pass, we ask that they please cancel their reservation with as much notice as possible so that another person may use it.
Returnable passes should be checked in by 10 a.m. the following day.

Culture Pass Policy

The Public Library is proud to offer a Culture Pass program, which provides library cardholders with free admission to local museums and cultural institutions. To take advantage of this program, library cardholders can check out a Culture Pass at any library location and use it to gain free admission to participating institutions. With the Culture Pass, library customers can explore the history and culture of their local community.
